A Milwaukee native, Laura Anne Bird graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a degree in English. She lives in Madison with her husband, three teenagers, and little blind dachshund.

Thank you for visiting my website! I’m so excited to introduce you to my debut middle grade novel, Crossing the Pressure Line, which launches March 1, 2022.

Crossing the Pressure Line centers on Clare Burch, a plucky, deeply reflective 12-year-old who grieves the untimely loss of her grandfather, puts her self-confidence to the test, and learns how to listen to the courageous voice inside.

Crossing the Pressure Line is the perfect book for tweens who love swimming, fishing, animals, art, and setting fierce goals for themselves. My story features non-traditional families and diverse characters, because I want every reader to see themselves reflected in the pages.
